Staff Data Analyst, Assurance & Advisory Services (A&A) - Data
Analytics will work closely with Finance, IT, Business and A&A
leaders to enhance the use of analytics in A&A and will play a
pivotal role in the design, development, and execution of data
analytics supporting audit engagements. The role will also
identify, evaluate, and recommend opportunities to automate
business processes and will assist in the development of automated
controls. The role will work with business team members on the use
of analytics and automated controls developed, and work to increase
the competency in the design and development of analytics
throughout A&A.Position Responsibilities:
- Improve the level of understanding of data and visual analytics
within A&A
- Improve the use of analytics within assurance and advisory
engagements
- Increase the understanding of the power and use of analytics
for process owners and business lines
- Create and maintain sustainable analytics that can be available
for repeated and scalable use
- Develop analytics that will assist in the performance and
improve the value and efficiencies of centralized control
testing
- Improve and assist with the maturity of the control environment
of the Enterprise from the use of analytics, continuous
auditing/monitoring and predictive analytic procedures
- Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques
and provide ongoing reports/dashboards
- Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex
data sets
- Understand data structure in different databases and
applications to extract data in a repeatable and efficient
fashion
- Filter and clean data for use in analytics and reporting
- Work closely with the A&A leadership team to prioritize
needs
- Work closely with management to understand business processes
and controls and determine analytics utilization and automation
opportunities
- Continually look for process improvement opportunities and how
we can leverage analytics to increase efficiencies and A&A
value
- Work closely with IT partners to establish best way to access
data in a repeatable fashion
- Maintain knowledge of general business and economic
developments and gain understanding of the insurance industry
- Maintain and exhibit the highest standards of ethics,
professionalism, integrity, and discipline in all actions
- Maintains and builds skills and competence as identified in an
individual development plan and, as appropriate, through
participation in relevant industry and professional
associationsPosition Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in data analytics, information
systems, statistics, or a related field.
- 1+ years of overall experience, at least six months of
experience working in data analytics.
- Strong sense of curiosity and willingness to obtain a deep
understanding of the business, processes, technologies, and risks
to provide value and insights and help improve and achieve our
strategic intent
- Strong organizational, project management, time management,
relationship-building, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced, high demand
environment while managing competing priorities in a dynamic
environment experiencing rapid growth and change
- Able to gather, analyze, and evaluate facts and to prepare and
present concise, detailed, and clear oral and written reports
- Able to recognize patterns, relationships, and trends from a
variety of data points and champions the use of data analytics
- Knowledge and experience with data warehousing, scripting, and
visualization tools
- Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, SQL, Python, or
other programming languages
- Ability to apply descriptive analytics to analyze data and
validate assumptions
- Insurance or financial services experience
- Master's degree in data science, data analytics, statistics, or
a related field
- Able to travel up to 20%
- Able to work effectively in a remote environment when
necessary
- The selected candidate will work a hybrid work schedule which
will require weekly reporting to one of the following offices:
Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Birmingham, AL; Alpharetta, GA or
Jacksonville, FLThe range for this position is $48,700 to $83,400.
