Barry Callebaut seeks diverse and passionate people who thrive in a dynamic environment, focused on continuous learning, living BC's Values, and of course loving chocolate.The Sr. Trader, Cocoa will be a Cocoa Derivatives and Products Trader with industry relationships and manage strategic sourcing and hedging activities for cocoa butter, liquor, and solids for Barry Callebaut's North American Cocoa Trading & Sourcing organization. The incumbent will manage an annual spend of approx. 400M USD.Key responsibilities include:

• Trading and strategic sourcing of cocoa products from domestic as well as overseas suppliers (Asia, South America, and West Africa)
• Develop long-term relationships with existing and new vendors focusing on risk management, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
• Position management and hedging on the cocoa exchange for effective exposure management, in close collaboration with Finance and Risk Management
• Define and implement raw material strategies to support North American purchase and sales activity
• Market research in order to develop trading strategies and support sales activity
• Support cocoa butter sales to large third-party customers in close collaboration with the Cocoa Sales Team
• Partner with Sales, Pricing, Planning, and Logistics to align on inter-departmental activities related to Sourcing and Trading
• Collaborate with Logistics Analysts to ensure effective contract execution and supplier management activitiesAbout you:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commodity Trading, Political Science, International Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Effective collaboration with people to get things done
  • Clear, concise, and succinct ability to communicate in a high-pressure environment
  • Familiarity with FCC and CMAA contract rules
