The Finance Director is a hybrid position requiring on-site office presence on a monthly basis or as determined and approved by the CEO (office located in Uniontown, Ohio). Responsible for all operations associated with leading, developing, and executing financial strategies. Key Areas of the role include software assessment for company financial operations and SaaS product contracts/invoicing platforms. Assist with overseeing budgeting, revenue cycle management, contract/services billing, and product services/offerings operations including leadership in pricing decisions to ensure revenue growth with company profits. Interface directly with executives and coordinate with cross-functional teams while directly managing the accounting and finance department including but not limited payroll operations specific to taxes and compliance regulations.The Finance Director must have recent experience with a SaaS company as a leader that has developed, assessed and continuously improved processes with automation and efficient platforms as well as a great leader and supervisor. Must have accounting experience with a subscription business model; revenue is subject to routine changes (think plan upgrades/downgrades) and is mixed with one-time fees and upfront payments.A successful Finance Director needs to be a person with multiple years of experience in both the financial operations within the SaaS product/industry and FP&A; able to deliver excellence in both disciplines in parallel with a 'get-things-done attitude'.Creates and oversees the execution of financial strategies and initiatives for the company.Skills/Qualification Requirements:Financial Analysis; Software as a Service (SaaS); Leadership; Financial Reporting; Strategic Planning; Business Strategy; Tax Compliance are critical skill sets for this position along with the following:Education/Experience: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting (preferably an MBA or equivalent business discipline or complementing area/industry) and preferably at least 10 years working directly as an employee of a company that develops a SaaS product with at least 5 years at a Director/Management level or higher at that company including both people and SaaS product responsibilities.Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination. People management responsibilities in this position are often provided/supported through a leadership team including principals, managers and/or directors. Collaborates with other members of the executive management team to align departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization. Develops policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.Experience: Must have more than 15 years' work experience leading teams in a complex business setting building a highly scalable and performance-driven environment. A suitable candidate will also have diverse experience in finance and accounting, management, corporate communications and overall business operations. The experience must also show comfort in resolving daily internal and external problems and challenges in situations and positions that affect the company's financial success as well as tax, corporate and contract compliance.Software & Technology: Must have hands-on current experience with in-depth knowledge of financial software packages for SaaS company operations as well as payroll and tax compliance experience with HRIS platforms such as Paycor, Paycom, Paylocity, etc.SaaS Industry: Experience with extensive knowledge of the SaaS industry recognized best practices with subscription-based accounting.Communication: It is an absolute necessity for the Finance Director to possess great verbal and written communication skills; presentations to the business's stakeholders reporting on various aspects of the company growth potential and opportunities from budgeting, financial modeling, management, and profitability.Leadership Skills: Demonstrates a rich blend of analytical, creative, and strategic talents to earn the confidence of the stakeholders, external partner/customers and employees of the company; must have the ability to effectively communicate, motivate, and inspire cross-functional teams with professionalism and clarity.Problem Solving Skills: Possess superior problem-solving skills to address and resolve conflicts or complications within teams/departments, enabling a smooth performance of functions and a reduction of delays.Analytical Skills: Must have exceptional analytical skills that will be necessary for driving successful improvements and strategies; lead the business to the achievement of its financial goals with desired profitability. Ability to define and analyze numerous metrics and know when and how to apply each in order to provide financial direction for the business. Must be a strategic thinker with a good eye for spotting and identifying opportunities, automation, process improvements and overall compliance certainty.Essential Functions:

  • Leadership: The most prominent leadership function while being an influential member of the Executive Team is to head the entire finance and accounting functions including contract management and taxes as well as oversight with payroll operations. Ensures that these key areas/roles are being executed in the most efficient way possible, leading to the overall efficiency of the teams/organization.
  • Vision and Strategy: Responsible for the formulation of the company's execution and follow through of strategies for profitability, compliance and process improvement.
  • Research and Analysis: Conducts and performs various analyses to establish the company's financial wellbeing and forecasting efforts.Role and Responsibilities:Main responsibilities will be to manage and lead the company's financial operations while ensuring the right procedures, processes, compliance and data infrastructure is in place. Oversees the preparation of regulatory and financial reporting as required, and ensures compliance. Develops policies and procedures to control and report financials. Manages the preparation of budgets, forecasts and accounting activities.
