• Must work onsite.
• 25% to 35% Travel Estimate.Structural Engineer Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to the Infrastructure Engineering Center, for accomplishment of project engineering packages.
  • Prepare summary trip reports within two working days of trip completion.
  • Compile and complete project documents.
  • Provide technical engineering support for all phases of assigned new construction and renovation projects (i.e. evaluate shop drawings, design proposals, and interpret the technical requirements for adherence to contract documents).
  • Participate in Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) on all assigned projects and provide recommended resolutions on all items relating to engineering.
  • Perform engineering studies for feasibility and cost versus benefit.
  • Provide technical input to the Government Technical Interpreter in actions to plan, budget, program, and coordinate the development of engineering projects.
  • Develop project drawings in accordance with the FAA Standard/guidelines.Structural Engineer Required Qualifications:Civil Engineering Degree (B.S.) OR similar. Minimum 4 years with Structural Engineering Design and experience with tower, shelter, and similar structure projects. OR a Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.Knowledge of multiple of the following, Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities:
    • Metal equipment towers
    • Commercial/Industrial Structures
    • Roof Replacements
    • Emergency and battery backup systems (Small Engine Generators and/or Battery Backup Systems)
    • Small HVAC systems
    • Remote site work
    • Road design
    • Concrete
    • Site grading
    • Equipment shelters
    • Concrete foundations
    • Structural
    • Environmental permitting (NEPA, ARAP, stormwater, etc)
    • Lightning protection and grounding
    • Hazmat (Pb, Asbestos) abatement
    • Construction risk management
    • Software: (Project management software (CWP, Primavera, Microsoft project, etc) and/or Computer aided design (AutoCAD, Microstation)
    • Utility layout design: water, power, comm, sewerAbility to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder OR working in the USA with a temporary protected status (TPS) visa who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with no breaks OR leaving the country. One must be able to show documentation of proof once asked by security or the FAA.Structural Engineer Preferred Qualifications:
      • Proficiency in AUTOCAD.
      • Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Tower (NASET).
      • Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Building (NASEB).
      • Knowledge of Corporate Work Plan (CWP) 4.1.12.
      • Knowledge of Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), power, general building construction techniques, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), fire detection, security, site work.Please Note: The program budget salary for this role could fall anywhere between $100,000 to $110,000 with a slight wiggle room to go up based on relevant experience and assessment.
