Job Description:

Fenagh Engineering and Testing provides special inspections, geotechnical engineering, and other materials testing services for a wide array of private and public sector clients.We are seeking a full time Geotechnical Engineer (PE) to work in our Chicago, IL office.Illinois PE License is requiredEssential job functions include, but are not limited to:

• Perform and oversee field sampling of engineering materials and media (soil, concrete, asphalt, etc.).
• Supervise drilling subcontractors for geotechnical investigations.
• Perform site evaluations.
• Perform and oversee lab testing.
• Prepare technical reports.
• Manage project activities and budgets.
• Work with project managers on other assigned tasks.
• Supervise staff.
• Manage accreditations and calibrations.Job Requirements:Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related construction management.
  • 4 years of experience performing geotechnical and CMT projects.Technical Requirements:
    • Illinois PE License required.
    • Microsoft PC applications; Arc GIS experience a plus.
    • Need good technical report writing skills.
    • Knowledge of ASTM guidelines a plus.Other qualities:
      • Travel within 150 miles approximately 25% of time.
      • Group management experience a plus.
      • Client management and business development experience a plus.
      • PE licensure a plus; required within one year of hire date.
      • Ability to work independently.
      • Multitask and attention to detail.
      • Effective communication skills.
