OverviewThe Center Director is responsible for overseeing the daily
operations of the daycare center while ensuring high standards of
care, safety, and education. As the leader of the center, you will
provide guidance to staff, engage with families, and ensure
compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations. The
ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and hands-on leader,
passionate about early childhood development and capable of driving
the center's success.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Management and
Operations:
- Oversee all daily operations, ensuring adherence to local,
state, and federal regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor educational programming that
meets developmental needs.
- Ensure services align with licensing, safety, and accreditation
standards.
- Manage the center's compliance with health, safety, and
nutritional guidelines.Staff Supervision and Development:
- Lead, supervise, and evaluate teaching, administrative, and
support staff.
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to
ensure staff performance and retention.
- Monitor and track staff credentials, training, and compliance
with licensing requirements.
- Manage and approve staff schedules and timesheets to ensure
adequate coverage and operational efficiency.Family Engagement and
Community Partnerships:
- Build strong relationships with families, promoting trust and
collaboration.
- Organize family events and engagement activities to foster
connections and support children's development.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local schools, community
organizations, and service providers.Budget and Resource
Management:
- Manage the center's budget, ensuring proper allocation of
resources to meet program objectives.
- Track expenses, oversee co-payment collections, and monitor
financial activities within budgetary guidelines.
- Identify and implement cost-effective solutions without
compromising program quality.Compliance, Reporting, and
Documentation:
- Ensure the center meets all licensing requirements and quality
standards.
- Maintain accurate records, including enrollment, attendance,
staff documentation, and regulatory reports.
- Conduct regular audits to assess adherence to safety and
operational standards.QualificationsEducation Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child
Development, Social Services, or a related field (Master's
preferred).
- Gateways Illinois Director Credential Level II (or willingness
to obtain).Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education
or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or
supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of early childhood education best practices,
federal and state regulations, and licensing requirements.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving
skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant
software.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and performing
duties indoors or outdoors.
- Flexible and adaptable to assume various roles when
necessary.
- Proficiency in English for communication with staff, children,
