Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities and Key Deliverables
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures
to ensure compliance with client, company, local, state, and
federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and
mitigate potential hazards.
- Lead and coordinate safety training programs for employees and
contractors.
- Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and
near-misses, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with management and staff to promote a culture of
safety and continuous improvement.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of
safety-related activities and compliance.
- Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment
(PPE) and other safety measures.
- Prepare and present safety performance reports to senior
management and key client personnel.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes
to maintain a safe working environment.Required Skills and
Competencies
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety
regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively
interact with employees at all levels.
- Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and develop
effective mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and
effectively.Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety,
Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety management role
within an industrial, mechanical, or environmental setting.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing safety
programs and reducing workplace incidents.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety
Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist
(OHST) are preferred.
- Knowledge in tools, equipment, and machinery used:
Hydroblasting, Vacuum Truck, and Tank cleaning equipment.
- Physical effort required: Handling tools, materials, and
equipment weighing up to 150 lbs. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, crawl, bend, squat, and kneel.
Must be capable of climbing towers/vessels/tanks.
