Together, we can shape the future.About the CompanyAs a Production Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assume full ownership of production activities including becoming the process expert within the facility
  • Assist with the development and implementation of plant production activities and schedules
  • Hold morning meetings with teams to understand trends and resolve production issues
  • Troubleshooting and repair basic electrical/electronic equipment
  • Change belts and idler pulleys on trough-style conveyors
  • Schedule and monitor production schedules to achieve production goals
  • Strategize and execute action plans for growth in areas where the charts identify weaknesses
  • Monitor all areas of productivity
  • Collection analysis and input of all production data including separation orders
  • Ability through data analysis to identify issues with the production lines.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance of standard operating procedures within the plant
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Understand the basic functions and intricacies of machines within the plant
  • Clean and change pneumatic valves on optical sorting machines
  • Ensure and monitor the daily checks of all equipment
  • Work with the maintenance team's scheduling of preventive maintenance for equipment
  • Perform counseling or coaching, when necessary
  • Maintain a good rapport with all plant personnel so that issues are communicated and resolved
  • Make sound decisions as to what, when, and how things should work on a day-to-day basis
  • Put detailed work instructions in place for each piece of equipment
  • Train plant personnel to understand procedures and charts, IAW Kaizen
  • Develop training procedures and monitor teams for growth
  • Manage all levels of production shifts, quality, sales, training, environmental compliance, and safety
  • Improve weak areas of shifts and look for ways to drive continuous process improvements
  • Keep records and training documentation on personnel assigned to production
  • Assign work assignments to the supervisors, ensure labor distribution is aligned with production needs
  • Provide weekly feedback to the Plant Manager, addressing concerns, issues, personnel, maintenance practices and plant statusQualifications and Requirements
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 3-5 years of supervisory or management in a manufacturing environment
    • A strong background in process improvement and lean manufacturing systems
    • Experience with computerized maintenance program
    • 480vAC/3/60 electrical troubleshooting
    • Strong experience with rigging of motors, mechanical conveyors, pulleys and other heavy components, and other manufacturing equipment
    • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
    • Good communications skills - bilingual English/Spanish preferred
    • Team player, build and motivate teams, lead and contribute to a team effort
    • Strong MS Office required, especially Excel and WordRequired Skills and Abilities:
      • Successfully demonstrated track record of driving operational and cultural improvements for full facility turn around.
      • The successful candidate will have eight to ten (8-10) years of operations leadership experience directing several of the following disciplines:
      • production operations
      • project management
      • supplier relations & purchasing management
      • quality
      • maintenance
      • process engineering
      • production control
      • equipment & capital
      • facilities
      • safety & related compliance
      • logistics/transportation
      • An undergraduate degree in chemical, mechanical, industrial/manufacturing engineering, production technology or operations management is preferred or equivalent experience.
      • Skilled leveraging advanced technologies, processes & equipment and systems including process technologies would be ideal. Experience utilizing large, complex equipment is preferred. The ability to improve throughput and quality is imperative.
      • Strong technical and engineering background with the capability to help evaluate equipment, re-engineer systems & processes, layouts and flows, automation strategies, etc. Also, proficient to lead the capital equipment assessment, justification, and integration process for the plant.
      • Successfully demonstrates a track record of implementing manufacturing improvement programs (lean manufacturing), monitoring and evaluating systems. This candidate must know how to determine the status of activities, identify problems, as well as develop "work around" and corrective action plans quickly.
      • The ability to contribute to the development of operating plans and strategic initiatives.
      • Successful background working in non-union settings and is comfortable functioning as a "change agent", building positive employee relations and developing communications programs throughout all organization levels.
      • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to make presentations to staff and corporate headquarters executives. Capable of building strong working relationships with peers, subordinates, suppliers, customers, etc.
