looking for a Legal Operations Manager to join our growing Legal
Team.This role will be hybrid - you will be based out of our
downtown Chicago office but may be required to occasionally visit
our Burr Ridge and Elmhurst locations to ensure connectedness and
understanding of our business.About the role:Reporting to the
General Counsel, you will play a key role in optimizing the
operations of our legal, risk and compliance function, overseeing
contract management, and supporting compliance efforts across the
company. You will work closely with both the General Counsel and
the Trust and Safety Manager, as well as cross-functional teams, to
ensure smooth legal and compliance workflows.Key
Responsibilities:
- Contract Management (25-30%):
- Oversee the company's contract management system (Ironclad),
including managing workflows, ensuring efficiency, and reporting to
stakeholders.
- Substantively review and negotiate contracts with guidance from
General Counsel.
- Work with the General Counsel and Trust and Safety Manager to
build out a new legal, risk and compliance function with a company
that has seen tremendous growth in recent years.Compliance and
Project Management (20%):
- Support various compliance projects, ensuring coordination with
key stakeholders and building strong working relationships across
the company.
- Track regulatory and industry developments relevant to the
company's operations.
- Collaborate with General Counsel on data privacy compliance
initiatives.Trust & Safety Support (20%):
- Partner with the Trust & Safety Manager on initiatives related
to fraud prevention and content moderation on the company's
fundraising platform.
- Assist with policy development and enforcement strategies.
- Manage outside law firm's handling of trademark
prosecution.
- Coordinate with marketing team and other stakeholders to gather
specimens of use and other required documentation.Knowledge
Management (20%):
- Create and share "knowledge management" tools with team and
relevant stakeholders throughout the company.
- Expand on legal intake processes and procedures to ensure
efficient triage of legal requests.
- Evaluate and recommend information technology tools for more
efficient operations.Experience & Skills we value:
- 5+ years of legal operations, paralegal, and/or contract
management experience in a corporate legal department.
- Proficient in Ironclad or similar contract lifecycle management
tools and willingness to adopt and learn new tech products.
- Demonstrated experience creating and managing efficient
processes for legal intake, reporting and resolution.
- Exposure to and interest in legal operations, risk management,
trust and safety metrics to demonstrate value and progress.
- Prior experience reviewing contract terms and executing on
revisions and approvals based on a playbook.
- Capable of communicating effectively with a wide variety of
audiences.Nice to have and/or you'll learn:
- Prior experience managing a trademark portfolio.
- Exposure to data privacy compliance concepts such as data
access and deletion requests.
- Exposure to manufacturing operations compliance concepts.Equal

- $75,000 - $110,000
- Target Annual Reward Plan (ARP): 15% (% of Annualized Base Pay,
paid quarterly)The final discretionary compensation that will be
offered for this role depends on a variety of factors, including
job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
