$174,678 - $260,270 per yearRush salaries are determined by many
factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related
experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry
specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush's
anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for
the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of
each case. This role has a corresponding incentive plan based on
multiple factors.Summary:The Associate Vice President serves as a
member of the department's leadership team and has oversight
responsibility for the functions of special events, strategic
communications, alumni relations and auxiliary board support, which
includes the Woman's Board gift shop and special events staff. This
position reports to the Vice President Operations and Engagement,
Philanthropy, managing a team of 22 professional staff members
including five direct reports. Exemplifies the RUSH mission, vision
and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and
procedures.Required Job Qualifications:--- Bachelor's degree.---
Fifteen to twenty years of experience overall, with at least five
years in a broad-based comprehensive development program.--- Strong
management background in strategic planning, communications,
personnel and budgetary oversight (academic medical center
experience is a plus).--- Proven success in building relationships
with key volunteers, board members, administrative colleagues and
donors, coupled with demonstrative consensus-building skills.---
Ability to design, implement and assess the success of a complex
donor engagement and communications program, within a comprehensive
academic medical center.--- Ability to organize, establish
objectives and priorities and manage professional staff to achieve
goals in a complex organizational environment.--- Broad exposure to
multifaceted capital campaign planning and implementation
strategies.--- Excellent oral and written communications ability,
as well as strong presentation skills.Preferred Job
Qualifications:--- Master's degree.Responsibilities:--- Play a key
role in departmental strategic development of fiscal year and
campaign plans, including engagement in and development of key
campaign strategies targeting RUSH University alumni and RUSH
faculty and staff.--- Oversee the development of operational
strategies and budgets in all areas of responsibility.--- As a
member of the Philanthropy Leadership Team (PLT) help to conceive
long-term strategy of departmental direction and growth.---
Contribute to an office-wide culture of collaboration, integrated
program planning and problem-solving by facilitating cross-team
initiatives that leverage volunteers, help ensure employee
engagement, ownership of work, and a high level of productivity.---
Collaborate closely with Marketing Communications, Media Relations,
Rush University faculty and administrative leadership, and other
Rush units to create integrated tactics to promote Rush's brand and
key messages, leveraging Rush milestones to advance Rush's
relationships with donors and prospects.--- Serve as the Office of
Philanthropy's primary liaison in developing CEO and University
President talking points, event briefing materials and
transformational-level prospect meetings.--- Collaborate and
strategize with the University president, provost and deans to
advance the work of alumni relations in building a cohesive and
integrated university alumni program, including cultivation of and
engagement with alumni boards representing the medical college,
college of nursing and college of health sciences.--- Work
productively with PLT members and department managers to ensure
that goals are well communicated, that staff members have the tools
needed to effectively execute their work plans, and that the
department is consistently looking for opportunities for
improvement and greater efficiency.--- Oversee a program of
integrated communications initiatives designed to engage donors and
prospective donors at all levels, including alumni audiences. These
include print, digital and social media efforts within both
Strategic Communications and Development Communications.As a
Manager of Specific Teams:--- Provide direct management oversight
for the philanthropy communications, special events, alumni
relations and Woman's Board teams, engaging staff to achieve team
and departmental goals.--- Support the development of a productive
donor identification, cultivation and solicitation fundraising
effort in support of Rush University, engaging alumni, volunteers
and faculty in developing and executing strategies.--- Manage and
support a growing and critical communication team, with staff
focused on impact reporting, proposal development, video
development and execution, social media, websites and comprehensive
donor and patient storytelling initiatives to further engage donors
and prospects with Rush.--- Oversee a robust special events program
and develop methodology for evaluating return on investment for
special events. Routinely assess strategy to ensure maximum return
on investment both in terms of impact and allocated resources.
Ensure successful execution of annual Philanthropy events (e.g.
Anchor Cross Society Reception, Investiture Ceremonies) as well as
a variety of evolving events that support fundraising
priorities.--- Liaison with Woman's Board volunteers to provide
leadership-level support to Woman's Board Gift Shop and Events team
members.--- Serve on selected RUSH-wide and Philanthropy-specific
committees that assist with the prioritization of RUSH staff and
budgetary resources or address specific institutional needs.Rush is
