ROLE:

Are you a skilled cook with a deep passion for culinary excellence and experience in a fine-dining setting? The Park Hyatt Chicago is looking for a Cook 2 to join our dynamic kitchen team at NoMI, one of Chicago's premier dining destinations.

As a Cook 2, you will be responsible for handling advanced cooking stations, working with minimal supervision and demonstrating expertise in cooking techniques, ingredient knowledge, and plating. You will be expected to assist in overseeing junior team members and contribute to the overall quality and efficiency of the kitchen. Ideal candidates will have a strong culinary background, experience in a luxury or fine-dining environment, and a passion for mentoring others in the kitchen.

WAGE INFORMATION:

The hourly rate for this position is $27.45. This position is also eligible to earn overtime and premium pay under certain circumstances.

    Qualifications:
    
    • Refined verbal communication skills
    • Minimum of 3 years of previous line experience required
    • Experience working in a luxury or fine-dining environment is preferred
    • Culinary degree or related culinary experience is preferred
    • Ability to perform advanced cooking skills and work autonomously
    • Capable of leading and guiding less experienced team members
    • Strong understanding of ingredients, techniques, and plating
    • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time
    • Must be available for a flexible schedule, including weekends, and holidays. This role is for overnight shifts.
