Position SummaryThe Corporate Human Resources Business Partner
will serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor on all human
resource needs to assigned USG's business units. This position will
work closely with multiple levels of employees and management
ranging from entry level professional to executive level leaders.
As a strategic business partner, the incumbent provides thought
leadership on talent implications of the business strategy and
initiatives. Provides counsel to the designated leadership team on
employee engagement, compensation, employee relations and a broad
range of human resource matters. Coordinates closely with USG's HR
Centers of Expertise (CoE's) and other human resource business
partners to ensure a consistent approach across business units,
aligned to other business areas when appropriate.Key
AccountabilitiesStrategic Business Partner
- Provide proactive consultation and input to functional leaders
on issues where human resources expertise can improve business
results.
- Work closely with functional and HR leaders to facilitate
organizational change initiatives and put strategies into place to
improve effectiveness.Talent Management
- Assist with the development and execution of talent management
and retention strategies to support employee engagement for the
business in partnership with the Talent Management CoE by assessing
training needs, guiding leaders through talent reviews, creating
development plans, supporting succession planning process, and
coaching managers on how to be more effective developers of
people.
- Work with managers to create functional diversity and inclusion
strategy and facilitates initiatives.
- Work with business leaders on effective workforce planning and
helps implement action plans.
- Coach managers on critical competencies, such as effective
leadership skills.
- Administer training for designated customer groups with the
ability to deliver, project and motivate attendees through
effective training methodologies both in classroom and
virtually.
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes.Employee
Relations
- In partnership with the Employee Relations CoE, assists leaders
with the development of employee relations programs and resolving
difficult human resources issues.
- Ensures that USG policies and procedures are adhered to and
applied in a consistent manner.
- Collaborates closely with managers to interpret employee
engagement survey results, identify engagement opportunities,
assist in creating plans to resolve and help execute and monitor
established plans.
- Work with our immigration lawyers to coordinate visa processing
(H-1, J-1, L-1---), including the coordination of related
recruitment activity and management of Public Access File
records.
- Assist with investigations into significant allegations of
employee misconduct.Total Rewards
- Work closely with management and the appropriate CoE's on the
creation of total reward plans to drive business results.
- Help to implement plans, ensuring that employees understand how
performance impacts pay.
- Provide critical data and feedback to CoE's on planning design
and local implementation.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Occasional travel may be requiredPreferred:
- Experience with Oracle EBS HRIS, Cornerstone on Demand, Visier,
and other HR platforms helpful
- Preferred experience collaborating with legal counsel in
managing visa application process, including gathering
documentation, educating employee and manager, coordinating hiring
activity desired.
- Training & Development certification preferred.Education and
Related Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of six years HR experience and or other applicable
management experience
- Demonstrated experience as a trusted business advisor
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating live and virtual
training
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred
- Performs additional responsibilities as assignedRate of pay may
be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the
