Job Description:

Major Manufacturing Company in Chicago is seeking a Java Engineer / Swing SME.

Daily duties and responsibilities in this role will generally include:

Planning, designing, developing, coding, testing, building, deploying, and debugging new software or enhancements to existing software.
Participating in design and coding activities with other team members.
Working with other team members to understand problems with software, and then developing specifications and estimates to resolve such problems.
Integrate in-house and third-party software components to create the designed system.
Work with Operations and Support teams to deploy applications to various environments and ensure they can be supported.
As part of an agile team, share responsibility for refining, planning, and estimating the duration and complexity of tasks.
Develop systems that adhere to architecture standards and practices.
Unit test all new software thoroughly to ensure the highest quality levels possible.
Collaborate closely with other team members in the IT team and content team.



Requirements:

ECLIPSE AND DEBUGGING EXPERIENCE A MUST.
Five or more years of experience in developing Java/Swing application.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or higher.
Senior-level skills with the following technologies: Java and REST API.
Proven experience in using Java/Swing Layout system.
Proven experience in using Java2D.
Proven experience in using Java/Swing component libraries such as Table, List, and Tree.
Proven experience in using Java Collections and data structure.
Proven experience in Socket and WebSocket programming in Java.
Proven experience in multithreading and concurrency programming in Java.
Proven experience in JNI programming in Java.
Proven experience in consuming SOAP API in Java.
Proven experience in leveraging SaaS APIs (Salesforce).



W2 Contract, Citizen or Green Card Holder

Remote opportunity (6 months to 1 year).

Must be heavy Java Swing.
