Walker Institute- a dedicated Learning and Development program
designed to meet the training and development needs of our growing
company, empower our employees, and strengthen our company's
culture. To lead this transformative initiative, we're seeking a
Learning and Development Lead who will design, implement, and
manage impactful programs that drive professional growth and align
with our long-term vision.Walker Consultants seeks a dynamic and
experienced Learning and Development Program leader to lead the
development and Implementation of the Walker Institute and manage
our ongoing learning and development initiatives. This is more than
a traditional L&D role. This position offers a unique
opportunity to design and implement programs that support
professional growth, align with our Strategic Plan, and foster a
culture of continuous learning. As the owner of the Learning and
Development function, you will leverage your expertise and
enthusiasm to collaborate with leaders and employees to build
impactful learning strategies that drive engagement and
performance.Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Program Development: Lead the design, implementation,
and management of the Walker Institute, ensuring alignment with our
2030 Strategic Plan and organizational goals.
- Leadership & Talent Development: Assist with creating and
managing leadership development programs to build strong,
future-ready leaders across the organization.
- Training Delivery: Design and coordinate engaging, dynamic
training sessions-both in-person and virtual-tailored to diverse
learning needs across all service lines.
- Skill Assessment: Collaborate with department leaders to
identify skill gaps, develop targeted learning plans, and ensure
employees have the tools to excel.
- Content Creation & Curation: Develop or source high-quality
learning materials and leverage internal and external resources to
create impactful training content.
- Data-Driven Insights: Establish key success metrics, analyze
program effectiveness, and use data to refine and improve learning
initiatives.
- Compliance & Professional Development: Ensure all training
programs comply with industry standards and regulatory
requirements, including managing PDH credits where applicable.
- Technology & LMS Management: Research, select, and implement a
user-friendly Learning Management System (LMS) and serve as its
administrator, ensuring smooth operation and tracking of training
programs.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of learning
trends, integrate best practices, and continuously evolve programs
based on feedback and industry shifts.
- Budget Oversight: Manage the training and development budget,
optimizing resources for maximum impact.
- Conference & Event Coordination: Manage Walker's internal
employee conference schedules and collect feedback from attendees
to inform future programming.
- Vendor Partnerships: Collaborate with external training
providers to enhance internal learning offerings when needed.
- Culture Champion: In collaboration with management, drive
initiatives that strengthen Walker's culture of continuous
learning, professional growth, and employee engagement.What You
Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational
Development, Education, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Learning and Development
and/or Training, with a proven track record working as or alongside
a program owner.
- Strong facilitation and instructional design skills, with
experience in creating engaging and effective learning
programs.
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other
modern training tools.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the
ability to engage diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess needs and
measure program outcomes effectively.
- Certification in instructional design, training, or related
areas (e.g., ATD, CPTD) is a plus but not required.
