position offers an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in
the leadership and administration of the top-ranked undergraduate
business program in Chicago. As a member of the Dean's Leadership
group, the Assistant Dean will contribute to the strategic
direction and operations of an undergraduate program with over
2,000 students.
- Dean's Leadership Group: Participate in meetings and
discussions to develop and implement initiatives that advance the
goals and mission of Quinlan's undergraduate Bachelors in Business
Administration program.
- Program Innovation and Improvement: Evaluate current degree
program offerings and propose and execute innovations and
improvements.
- Course Inventory and Program Coordination: Manage the course
inventory process for all undergraduate classes.
- Advising and Faculty Support: Work closely with department
chairs to enhance students' progression through the undergraduate
program.
- Advisor and Manager for U.S./Europe Double Degree: Act as the
primary academic advisor for students enrolled in the U.S./Europe
Double-Degree Program.
- Member of Quinlan Curriculum Committee: Serve as a key member
of the Curriculum Committee.
- Review and Selection for Scholarships and Honor Societies:
Review applications and select candidates for endowed and gift
scholarships.
- Scheduling Oversight: Work closely with the Office Coordinator
for Class Scheduling and department chairs.
- Admissions and Graduation: Play a key role in attracting
applicants and graduation planning.
- Other responsibilities as required.Minimum Education and/or
Work Experience
- Masters degree.
- At least three to five years of progressively responsible
experience in higher education administration required; teaching
experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in developing structured learning objectives and
applied curricula.
- Knowledge of higher education policies, curriculum, operations
and procedures.
- Conversant with group process and understand the role of Jesuit
higher education.Qualifications
- Master's degree in business, higher education, social sciences,
or a related field; a doctorate is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in higher education, preferably in a
business school setting.
- Proven track record of success in developing and managing
complex academic programs.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to excellence in undergraduate education.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to navigate complex relationships within a higher
education environment.Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
