System (MES) Consultant (100% remote/WFH)Responsibilities:
- Supporting project/program leads in the elicitation and
building of business, functional and technical requirements (e.g.
Requirement Specification - URS)
- Supporting project/program leads in the design specification
phase and building the design specification document (e.g.
Functional Design Specification)
- Project Execution:
- Work in conjunction with project leads to define project tasks
and identify task durations
- Report to project leads on task advancement
- Work independently under the guidance of technical leads
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to software development
and engineering tasks
- Apply project best practices and support changes that
streamline operations
- Knowledgeable of testing/validation processes, including
building validation tests (Test Specification/Validation
Specification document)
- Train/coach end-users on MES solutions and assist in driving
solution acceptanceDepending on the project or program, MES
Consultants can be positioned as Functional Analysts. They help
identify needs for new MES and MOM (Manufacturing Operation
Management) implementations and participate in functional
discussions with customers. General responsibilities may include
ensuring current applications are updated, analyzing end users'
needs, and developing troubleshooting MES implementation
logic.Qualifications:
- Excellent technical abilities in MES interface with 3rd party
systems (e.g. DeltaV, Siemens PCS7, Siemens SIMATIC Batch, Rockwell
PLCs/SCADA)
- Proficient in programming languages (C#, Java, C++,
VBA/VBScript, Python)
- Knowledge of software release management on multiple
environments (e.g. DEV, QA, PROD)
- Experience with Team Foundation Server and/or Jira is strongly
recommended
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%Strong communication
skills and the ability to work in a virtual team environment are
essential. Adaptability to learn new technologies is also
required.Required Education:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering,
or a related discipline
- Strong background in MES and manufacturing processes in either
Process or Discrete industries is recommendedBenefits:
