Description:The Inventory Specialist will serve as the company's
go-to expert for all things related to inventory. This includes
overseeing inventory counting, ensuring accurate reconciliation,
analyzing data to identify trends, and leading the implementation
of systems and processes aimed at enhancing the traceability of
inventory throughout the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of an Inventory
Specialist
- Counts all inventory, raw materials and supplies on a set
schedule across all sites.
- Analyzes transaction history in SAP and compares them to
physical inventory to understand variances and how to resolve
them.
- Reports discrepancies to leadership to make adjustments, along
with root cause analysis for what drove the variance to prevent
future occurrences.
- Counts and reports slow moving and obsolete inventory each
month and helps with determining finaldisposition to reduce aging
inventory.
- Initially the counting function of the role will be on tablets
and spreadsheets, but this role will also be a subject matter
expert on the use of a new WMS system being developed.
- Recommends changes to processes and workflows that can enhance
inventory traceability across different functions within the
company.
- Works cross functionally with the distribution, procurement,
and production teams as the main point of contact for
inventory.
- Assists in month end inventory counts and Ad-Hoc inventory
counts as necessary.
- Ability to adapt quickly and learn about the companies
products, procedures, and operational details.
- Creates and maintains dashboards, KPIs, and other metrics as
needed to help improve the performance of inventory accuracy along
with capacity utilization trends.
- Evaluates product flow and velocity to help determine optimal
material across the company and within each operation.
- Escalates capacity constraints across the locations and
recommend tactics to help re organize raw materials to free up
space
- Demonstrates a keen eye for detail, organizational skills, and
strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Exhibits ability to think creatively in order to devise best
inventory control practices. Required Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of inventory software.
- Possesses specific knowledge of company's range of products and
services.
- Exhibits ability to interpret and explain inventory and sales
reports.
- Pays close attention to detail.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills.
- Exhibits ability to think creatively in order to devise best
inventory control practices.
- Possesses a keen eye for organization.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and customer service
skills.
- Works well with a team.
- Exemplary counting ability.
- Working hours will be spent in the warehouse tracking and
organizing inventory.
- Time will also be spent in a office, processing paperwork.
- Standard 40-hour workweek applies. OT as needed HRS-7am-3:30pm
M-F.
- Physical labor such as lifting and moving heavy boxes of

- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the field.
- Intermediate analytical skills in excel.
- WMS system implementation experience a plus.
- Works well within a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Working knowledge of word processor, database and spreadsheet
software.
- Able to work weekends on occasion.
