Join our dedicated team that prioritizes integrity, respects ideals, and embraces new opportunities to serve our communities.Position SummaryThe Collections Specialist is responsible for managing unpaid accounts and ensuring timely collection of payments from customers, insurance adjusters, and other stakeholders. This role requires strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to resolve outstanding balances while maintaining positive relationships. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities

  • Manage and follow up on unpaid accounts to ensure timely collections.
  • Communicate with customers, insurance adjusters, and internal teams to resolve outstanding balances.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements while maintaining positive customer relations.
  • Monitor and analyze aging reports to track outstanding balances and prioritize collection efforts.
  • Process payments, reconcile accounts, and ensure accurate cash applications.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the collections process.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all collection activities and communications.
  • Provide excellent customer service while handling disputes and payment issues professionally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the company's growth and operational needs.Skills/QualificationsRequired
  • Strong negotiation skills with a focus on account resolution and settlements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of aging reports, payment processing, and account reconciliation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.Preferred
    • 3+ years of experience in collections or accounts receivable.
    • Experience in the disaster restoration, service, construction, or banking industries.
    • Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
    • Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and manage multiple priorities effectively.Work EnvironmentThis position is eligible for a hybrid work environment. The hybrid work environment includes in-office days in a professional setting with access to meeting rooms, workstations, and essential office equipment for collaboration and hands-on projects. Remote workdays require a dedicated home office with a stable internet connection, secure access to business tools, and virtual communication via platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.Physical DemandsWork is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
