VOSS Automotive, a leading global supplier to on-highway and
off-road OEMs in the design and manufacture of Diesel Exhaust Fluid
Lines, Coolant Lines, Air Suspension Lines and Fittings, Fuel Lines
and Fittings, and Quick Connect and Accessories, is expanding its
workforce and has the following new position open at its North
American Headquarters.Title: Prototype-Production AssemblerReports
to: Project/Prototype ManagerThis Prototype/Production Assembler
will support the Prototype Department by performing the following
duties:Job DutiesInclude the following (other duties may be
assigned):
- Assure safety standards are followed at all times
- Assure that quality standards are followed at all times
- Write and edit programs for CNC tube bending machines and other
precision equipment/machinery
- Set up and operate CNC tube bending machines and other
precision equipment/machinery
- Measure parts and make machine adjustments to achieve quality
parts
- Accurately complete all required paperwork in a timely
manner
- Communicate with other departments as necessary
- Provide expertise in the area of CNC tube bending and train
other VOSS employees as required
- Support industrial engineering with tool design and
development
- Ability to read drawings to determine tolerances for parts
- Ability to produce parts from sketches and/or prints
- Inspect tooling and repairs or replace as needed
- Ensure that precision machinery is in working condition and
properly calibrated
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise
safety
- Must be able to change tasks with little or no notice due to
the nature of the business
- Adhere to the standard work instructions (SWI)
- Adhere to 6S standards
- Give suggestions for optimized solutions and potential
tooling/production issues
- Achieve operator certification according to the plant
certification process
- Help to achieve team performance goals and objectives
- Follow ISO9001 documentation including, but not limited to,
SWI's, forms, work instructions, and procedures
- Follow company rules and policies/procedures
- Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as required
- Contribute to the achievement of quality/management objectives
by producing products to meet customer needs and expectations
- Follow all Quality Management Systems, the Environmental
Management Systems, and, when applicable, support VOSS Automotive
Mexico in adhering to their systems as well
- Participate in plant recycling programs
- Perform other duties as assignedQualifications:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); one-year
related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short
correspondence, and memos
- The physical demands described here are representative of those
that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the
essential functions of this job
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and talk
or hear
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach
with hands and arms
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds,
frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift
and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the
