special education ARD/IEP process. Collaborate with special
education and general education professionals and parents in the
ARD process. Work cooperatively with instructional personnel to
develop and provide the most appropriate educational programs for
students with
disabilities.Qualifications:Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Texas teacher certificate with Special Education
CertificationExperience/Skills:
- 3-5 years of teaching experience
- Special Knowledge/Skills of ARD procedures, education of
special education students, development of PLAAFP's and IEP goals
and objectives, curriculum, and state assessment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal
skills. Knowledgeable and skilled with working with E-Sped.Major
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain current knowledge of special education law.
- Maintain electronic E-Sped eligibility folders in a manner
consistent with TEA and Wayside Network requirements. Ensure the
confidentiality of information regarding special education
scholars. Schedule and document annual ARD Committee meetings.
- Provide assistance to special education instructors in
developing lesson plans aligned with scholar IEP's.
- Model effective teaching practices.
- Maintain compliance with ARD due dates based on federal, state
and network regulations.
- Schedule ARDs according to school procedures, and ensure that a
campus administrator, general education instructor and other
service providers as needed are in attendance.
- Complete ARD notices in E-Sped and distribute copies to parents
within the required timelines.
- Complete ARD documentation in E-Sped, including
minutes/deliberations of meeting.
- Ensure completion of all required pages of ARD in collaboration
with special education instructors.
- Provide assistance to special education instructors in
collecting any additional information needed from teachers such as:
attendance, grades, discipline information and transition
information.
- Submit completed ARD Committee Action Summary Form to Special
Education office in a timely manner for PEIMS.
- Assist special education instructors and campus administrators
in identifying a need for Failure ARDs, Manifestation Determination
ARD's, Revision ARDs and IEP Amendments.
- Collaborate with instructors in determining appropriate
accommodations and modifications to facilitate scholar success in
the general education classroom as well as state assessments.
- Promote a positive, caring climate for learning.
- Deal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural
backgrounds.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other
documents required.
- Attend monthly special education leadership meetings and
special education network meetings.
- Attend professional development sessions as assigned by the
Director of Special Education.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a positive and effective relationship with
supervisors.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues, students, and
parents.
- Consult with other agencies outside the school that also serve
the student, with parent consent.

- Frequent prolonged and irregular hours of duty.
- Endure possible inclement weather conditions to provide for
student safety.
- Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain
emotional control under stress.
- Interpret policies, procedures, and data to communicate
effectively (verbal and written) with parents, scholars and

This position is nonexempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act
(FLSA). The office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., however, from
time to time may work an extended schedule, including weekends and
evenings according to demands of the role and tasks. In accordance
