POSITION TITLE: Security Services Supervisor
LOCATION/DEPT: Pathway Forward Program
REPORTS TO: Assistant Program Director

PAY RANGE: $30.86 - $37.81
OUTCOMES
The mission of the Security Services Department is to ensure a
safe, secure, sanitary, and orderly facility. The Supervisor
oversees the performance of the Shift Supervisors and their
Correctional Monitors to enforce constant accountability as well as
upholding the safety and sanitation of the facility and our
residents. The Supervisor must know whereabouts and be in
continuous compliance with all contractual, accreditation,
licensing, and Salvation Army standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The facility is in continuous compliance with all contractual,
accreditation, licensing, and Salvation Army standards.
- Potentially serious incidents are quickly and effectively
resolved.
- Residents behave in such a manner as to maximize their
opportunities for visits and other privileges.
- Accountability for all residents is maintained at all
times.
- Data is collected, verified, recorded, analyzed, and
disseminated in a manner which meets or exceeds all obligations
imposed by the Salvation Army, the Bureau of Prisons, the U.S.
Probation Office, the American Correctional Association, and
Federal, State, and local laws.
- The policies and procedures are reviewed at least annually for
accuracy and utility and are revised as needed.
- Lines of authority are clear and unambiguous, with provisions
for the discharge of duties when the responsible staff member is
unavailable.
- Responsible for staffing department in order to meet required
program expectations and outcomes.
- Collaborates with Human Resources locally/divisionally in
recruiting for vacancies, conducting interviews,
screening/selecting, and making recommendations for
hiring.
- Provides training and evaluation of security staff, developing
a plan for ongoing mentoring and development.
- Establish weekly work schedules and job responsibilities for
Shift Supervisors and Correctional Monitors.
- Ability to work different shifts, times, and holidays.
Additionally, this candidate will be on-call for security issues as
well as in a Duty Officer rotation.
- Conduct weekly facility inspections to ensure contractual
compliance.
- Ability to facilitate orientation groups as well as training(s)
for both staff and residents.
- Familiarity of fire suppression systems.
- Possess a strong ability to write clear, comprehensive, and
detailed reports.
- All other duties as assigned.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Assistant Program Director.
This positon supervises security staff.
The Security Services Supervisor works closely with the residents,
the Program Managers, the Shift Supervisors, and the Reentry Case
Managers. In addition, the Security Services Supervisor relates to
a large and diverse number of people inside and outside the
Salvation Army. In these contacts, the individual acts as a
representative of the Army and its mission.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
This individual will be evaluated on the basis of standards
established by facility Program Directives, with guidance from DHQ
- HR.
Evaluations will consider the timeliness, effectiveness, and
completeness of tasks performed and the results of internal and
external audits, when applicable. Fact-based opinions of training
participants, peers, and superiors may be considered.
A 30, 60, and 90-day performance review will be conducted.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor's degree in the Behavioral Sciences or
Corrections.
- A minimum of five years of related Corrections and/or Security
experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to obtain
Salvation Army MVR clearance.

POSITION LIMITATIONS
- This individual will only commit Army resources that have been
allocated or approved.
- This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in
carrying out the responsibilities of this positon.
- This individual will not fail to keep the Assistant Program
Director informed of all critical issues relating to their area of
responsibility.
- This individual may not bind the Salvation Army by making
decisions or taking actions which are not specified in this
position description, unless directed to do so by their
superior.
- This individual may not, without explicit authority, speak for
the Salvation Army or the Pathway Forward Program.
- This individual must bring employee concerns to the attention
of the Assistant Program Director and Human Resources.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The position is required to do light physical work.
In order to successfully perform the essential functions of this
position, the facilitator is required to use standard office
equipment.
The work environment for the position includes office environment
with a low noise level.
The position requires the ability to go off-site and working some
evenings/weekends.
