Early Childhood Learning, the Education Director/Lead Teacher -
Pre-K is responsible for the supervision of one or more Boys &
Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada (BGCSNV) Early Childhood Learning
(ECL) Centers while also performing duties as a Pre-K teacher and
providing instruction to their own classroom. The Education
Director/Lead Teacher - Pre-K will supervise all ECL Center staff
and the program at their assigned sites to ensure the delivery of
age appropriate, standards-based instruction to children enrolled
in the BGCSNV Pre-K program.The essential job duties for this role
include:
- Provide the opportunity for all students to learn in a safe,
supportive, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment that
positively promotes learning.
- Create and maintain a positive, orderly, and academically
focused learning condition in the instructional environment.
- Review, implement, and/or administer appropriate curriculum,
aligned with the Nevada Pre-K Standards.
- Review, develop and implement daily and long-range lesson plans
using research-based strategies to meet the needs of all students,
including but not limited to, students who have been identified as
at-risk and above grade level, students with individualized
educational programs (IEP), and English language learners
(ELL).
- Collaborate effectively and professionally with administrators,
other ECL and BGCSNV staff, parents/guardians, and the
community.
- Implement and act as the case manager of the IEP for students
with disabilities.
- Implement adopted reporting system for the Pre-K Early
Childhood outcomes.
- Document teacher performance including preparation and issuance
of formal performance reviews.
- Complete and follow all required processes and procedures for a
licensed childcare facility as outlined through BGCSNV, Health
Authority, and Nevada Licensed Child Care policy and
procedures.Required Skills, Knowledge, and/or Abilities:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have at least 1,000 hours of administrative verifiable
experience OR completed a course in business administration.
- Have at least 1,000 hours of verifiable experience in a
childcare facility.
- Nevada Department of Education Early Childhood Teacher License
OR 5.2 on Nevada Registry OR any one of the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in ECE or ECSE,
- Bachelor's Degree in any field and working toward permanent
license in a state-approved ARL in Early Childhood,
- Bachelor's Degree in any field and 35 or more ECE
post-secondary credits,
- Bachelor's Degree in any field and enrolled in TEACH Early
Childhood program.Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and/or
Abilities:
- 4,000 hours of verifiable experience in a childcare
facility.
- One year experience in a supervisory position in the
education/youth development field.
- Member of Nevada Registry.
- Current Nevada/Clark County Child Care Center Director
license/authority.
- Current CPR/AED certificate.
- Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills. Ability to
interact professionally with the public, vendors and other
professional staff.
- The ability to occasionally work irregular or extended
hours.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google suite of
productivity applications (Word, Excel, Forms, Outlook, etc.),
Bright Wheel platform and curriculum, and Infinite Campus
platform.Verification will be required for all requirements and
preferred skills prior to phone screen.Hours: 7AM to
4PMCompensation: $61,600 annuallyEligible for full-time benefits
after the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.
