Job Description:
The Site Operations Director is responsible for overseeing all
shifts of the assigned site, with a primary focus on the repair,
kitting, and fulfillment operations. This role encompasses labor
forecasting, staffing management, materials handling, equipment
utilization, and space planning to achieve Client expectations and
company production goals. The Site Operations Director will
collaborate with Client Engagement Project Managers and Support
Staff Department Leaders to align operational performance with
client requirements and company objectives. A focus on continuous
improvement, process optimization, and margin management is key to
success in this role.Essential Responsibilities:
- Primary leader responsible for all operational activities at
the site, with an emphasis on repair, kitting, and fulfillment
functions.
- Oversee and optimize Production, Repair, Fulfillment,
Warehousing (Receiving and Shipping), Transportation, Production
Planning, Returns, and related operations as applicable.
- Execute budget plans and drive financial performance
improvements for the site and associated Clients through effective
resource management.
- Forecast labor, materials, equipment, and space needs to ensure
seamless production and fulfillment processes without disrupting
Client service levels or production targets.
- Recruit, develop, and manage staff to achieve quality standards
and productivity objectives. Provide ongoing coaching, performance
feedback, and corrective action when necessary.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and tracking of Client-owned
inventory, materials, and assets.
- Review and enforce adherence to all Statements of Work (SOWs)
to meet Client and internal performance metrics.
- Achieve operational goals related to production output,
quality, and timely fulfillment of Client orders.
- Collaborate with Client Engagement Project Managers to
anticipate and plan for new or evolving Client requirements.
- Ensure compliance with work instructions and standard operating
procedures; coordinate adjustments with Client Engagement and
Support Staff as needed.
- Initiate internal corrective action processes for production
deviations and escalate issues affecting Client service levels or
quality via Corrective Action process.
- Track and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and
operational metrics daily. Proactively address any performance
issues to uphold Client Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and
deliverables.
- Engage the team in setting and achieving quarterly Objectives
and Key Results (OKRs) aligned with company goals.
- Analyze financial, service, and quality metrics to identify and
implement performance improvements beyond minimum standards.
- Partner with Sales, Client Engagement, and Support Staff to
develop cost analyses for volume fluctuations, new product
introductions, and Client onboarding processes.
- Report scope-related cost adjustments to the Vice President of
Operations and the assigned Client Engagement Project Manager.
- Conduct site tours for Clients and prospective Clients,
providing knowledgeable responses and projecting a professional
company image.
- Coordinate with Client Engagement to ensure accurate invoicing
for site activities.
- Optimize space, equipment, and labor resources to enhance
operational efficiency and minimize capital expenditure.
- Manage multi-shift and seasonal labor requirements to meet
demand fluctuations.
- Lead regular operational meetings and ensure supervisors
conduct daily stand-ups to review performance, address concerns,
and provide feedback.
- Communicate regularly with direct reports regarding site
operations, performance updates, and company initiatives; ensure
cascading communication to all levels.
- Ensure a safe work environment and proactively address any
safety concerns. Foster team morale and well-being.
- Enforce company policies and security protocols, including IT
and infrastructure safeguards.
- Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and care of site
facilities and equipment.Skills and Specifications Required:
- 10+ years of experience in operations management within a
production, repair, kitting, or warehouse environment.
- 10+ years of experience leading and developing teams across
multi-functional and multi-disciplinary settings.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Production
Systems, MRP, and ERP platforms.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated application of Lean Six
Sigma, 5S, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand
environment.
- Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving
abilities.
- Ability to interpret data to drive proactive operational
